PURA VIDA!!! After a looooong journey and awesome bug bites, I’ve returned to the states.  My revived heart and spirit is FULL of life, energy, joy, and thanks.  Spending the past week with innately beautiful people on a such a special and unique self-sustainable organic rustic farm called Rancho Margot in the remote  deeeeep jungle in COSTA RICA was an absolutely life-changing, enchanting adventure.  It was indescribable…here are just some glowing soulful moments: horseback riding through the rivers, hiking through the rainforest, the best reception dance party of all time, the dj after the band playing until 2am, dancing crazy in the jungle, sweaty bliss, farm fiesta, 7am yoga, practicing my Spanish, community meals, fresh papaya, composting, music, harmonious sounds of nature, soaking under natural volcanic springs, homemade costa rican delicious yumminess, chillin with iguanas, breaking my friend’s sandals doing the running man on the wood, riding an open wagon down a bumpy mountain in the rain, Filipino traditions, marriage on a mountain in peaceful serenity, Alyson walking down the aisle to “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” and then rain and a rainbow magically appearing around us, sleeping in a mosquito net, complete digital detox, open presentness, meditation, boogying to a reggae band on the dock, fresh strawberries in the country, constant clapping, ice cream in the village, fried avocados, tiny moments that create paradise, walking through the jungle at 2am with a flashlight, Al and Craig’s summer camp, connecting with the farm staff, being one with nature, rustic beauty, non-materialism, touring and learning about the farm, inspiration, humble kindness, feeling immersed in my element, a life celebration that embodied the principles of local support and eco-friendliness…with sincere gratitude for one of the best excursions of my life, congratulations gorgeous Alyson and handsome Craig!!!  Infinite bliss!!

P.S. More reflections about this trip to come!!

Blog Virgin

Sonal Shah Uncategorized

So I’m sort of a blog virgin.  Sort of.  I’ve done it before, but it was a long time ago and I’m not sure if I even remember how it was done.  I do know that I did not do it a lot.  I did maybe 3 times.  But, all that said and done…I feel like it never happened.

I don’t really know what I’m doing here except for the fact that everyone keeps telling me to write a blog.  The thing that stresses me out about this whole situation is that why now?  I should have started years ago.  I should have started when I was in my twenties.  Or even when I moved to Los Angeles.  So that is what sucks.  I want to write about things from the past.  I want to share stories of times when I was cool.  And doing a lot of interesting things.  Everyone has already blogged and I just feel waaaay behind.  What if now is too late?

And how should I even go about this whole thing? What is the difference between Tumblr and WordPress.  And why is it called Tumblr and not Tumbler?  And what is Tumblr anyway?  I know about email and facebook and twitter and instagram…but now there’s more.  I feel like an old idiot because somehow I didn’t get the memo that there’s this cool thing called Tumblr and you can blog on it!!  And apparently everyone has a blog.  But I do not so I should start.  But how can I start now?

And tagging and hashtags and photos and videos… I need to figure all of this out.

I just want to be hip.  I just wanna be one of the cool kids.   So here its.  Today…I’ve started.  Because it’s never too late to start. Right?

Hello world!
